



Athlete Advisory Council:
The Justis Group utilizes some of the best and brightest in their respective philanthropic fields to
assure our clients get the best information. This combination of philanthropic expertise and Justis
Group focus on the unique needs of athletes gives clients the confidence to drive their giving.
Advisors:
Mr. Jesse King:
Mr. King consults in the arenas of leadership, organizational development, and philanthropy, and has
assisted numerous corporate, government, and non-profit leaders with projects ranging from strategic
planning to operational reorganization, including capacity assessments, and organizational cultural
projects. In the private sector, Mr. King recently assisted Corporate Express in a long range planning
process, the articulation of their vision and the creation of a new mission statement. Additionally, for
Net2Phone, an emerging telecommunications company, he served on the board of directors and is
the chair of the compensation committee and a member of the audit committee for six years. Most
recently, he has been invited to serve on the Board of Directors for REI, Inc. with service beginning in
July of 2007. His work in the non profit sector includes work for the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the
Children’s Defense Fund, the Black Community Crusade for Children, and the Colorado Outward
Bound School. In the public sector he currently works as an adjunct trainer with the federal
government’s Office of Personnel Management and as adjunct staff for Center for Creative
Leadership. Most recently Mr. King served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the
Daniels Fund. Prior to that he was at the Rockefeller Foundation where he was focused on the
development and engagement of promising social entrepreneurs and emerging philanthropists. Mr.
King is active in the Colorado community, recently serving on the Denver Public Schools Commission
for High School Reform. Presently, he serves on the board of the Denver Foundation and as the chair
of the Chinook Fund. Mr. King is a founding partner and managing director of Fulcrum Advisors, a
privately held consulting firm supporting philanthropic activity and leadership development.
Dr. Dean Prina:
Dean Prina M.D. was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. He attended college and medical school at
Stanford University and completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center in Denver. He joined Partners in Pediatrics 25 years ago and has specialized in
special needs children, premature infants, and holistic health care. Dean has been active in the non
profit community over the past 20 years, focusing on women and children’s issues and challenges of
diversity and inclusiveness. He has served on over 30 non profit boards, most notably The Denver
Foundation, The Rose Community Foundation, the Women’s Foundation, Planned Parenthood of the
Rocky Mountains, Colorado Public Radio, Judi’s House (Brian Griese’s Foundation), and Project
PAVE. Dean enjoys collecting art, travel, and spending time with friends.
Mr. Brian Wright:
Mr. Wright is President and Founding Partner of Factum Partners which focuses on providing global
due diligence and analysis in emerging markets, with particular emphasis in Africa and Eastern
Europe. His services extend to venture philanthropists, or those who utilize the venture capital
approach to their charitable investing. Mr. Wright served his country for four years with the US
Department of State, two years of which were in Africa. Previously, Mr. Wright worked for a risk
management firm in New York and a community foundation in Colorado. Mr. Wright is deeply familiar
with private sector demands and philanthropic initiatives.
Mr. James Steinberg:
Jim Steinberg is an attorney with Wells Fargo Bank supporting secondary-market residential loan
sale, servicing and securitization transactions. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Bank in 2006, Mr.
Steinberg was in private practice in the Des Moines metro area for four years specializing in
residential real estate transactions, probate, small business organizations, estate planning and
contracts. Mr. Steinberg received his J.D. from the Drake University Law School and is licensed to
practice law in the state of Iowa. He received his B.A. in economics and Business from Cornell
College, where he also played Division III football and baseball.
Mr. Jeff Huson:
Fox Sports Network Rocky Mountain, Analyst, Colorado Rockies.
The former University of Wyoming baseball star played 15 years in professional baseball, 12 years as
a utility player with the Montreal Expos, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle
Mariners, Anaheim Angles and Chicago Cubs. He most recently served as a roving infield instructor
with the Chicago Cubs minor league organization working with major-league prospects from the AAA
level to the Dominican Republic League from 2001 to 2005.
Huson’s MLB career began in 1985 when the Montreal Expos signed him as an amateur free agent.
Over his pro career, Huson played 827 games at a variety of positions – third base, shortstop, second
base, fist base, and in the outfield. He was the ultimate utility players posting a career batting average
of .234 and a fielding average of .969. He played in notable games such as, Nolan Ryan’s 6th and 7th
No-hitters as well as his 300th win. Jeff was also on the field the night Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig’
s consecutive game streak.
Mr. Charles Johnson:
Former university of the Colorado QB, “CJ” Charles Johnson is currently as Assistant Athletic
Director/Promotions Director for the university. In 1990, CJ was named MVP of the Orange Bowl as
CU claimed the national title after beating Notre Dame 10-9. He has also hosted television shows
including “The Buffaloes Stampede” on FSN and is part of the radio broadcast team for 850 KOA
radio.
