In The Community. . .The Transplant Community
- Nearly 100,000 people are waiting for organ transplantation
- Every 12 minutes, another American is added to the national transplant waiting list
- Every day 18 people die waiting for transplantable organs.
"Almost ten years and a kidney
transplant took place between these
two pictures.
While we maximize charitable impact
on the various causes our clients
support, The Justis Group has chosen
to support the transplant community.
An investment in an individual is
ultimately an investment in all of us.I
was blessed to be in position to take
one person off the wait list."
Ryan Justis
While we support the transplant community, we also support those waiting for transplant and strive to keep
people off of the wait list. Below is a list of great resources for people interested in more information
regarding transplant, organ donation (living and deceased), and kidney disease. While there are many
organizations and resources, this list is a great place to start.
Having been through the process we always welcome e-mails or phone calls.
Organ Donation and Transplant
United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS):
Great site for information about all phases of the transplant continuum. You can find everything from
raw data on transplants and wait list data, to tools for patients and donors alike.
OrganDonor.gov

Donate Life America
They provide good donation information and also walks individuals through registering to become an
organ donor in their home state.
Kidney Disease
National Kidney Foundation
The home page for the national office, loads of information and statistics for kidney disease and the
leading causes. You can also locate and contact your regional/local offices through the site.
Kidney and Urology Foundation of America
Another great organization working on behalf of patients.

Wall Street Journal (September 23)
A great article on new and creative models for bridging the gap between those on the waiting list and the
